Custom Crowns in One Visit with CEREC
When your tooth sustains damage or develops extensive decay, you may need a crown or a partial crown. A full-coverage crown (also known as a cap) fits securely over the exposed surface of a tooth. A partial crown (known as an inlay, onlay, or ¾ crown) fits into the prepared cavity in a tooth. Depending on the effected tooth's location, Dr. Mike or Dr. Jayson may use all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, porcelain fused to Zirconia or gold materials for your crown.
Traditionally, patients had to schedule two visits for preparation and placement of a crown or a partial crown. CEREC technology allows our dentists to produce your custom porcelain restoration in one visit. Your dentist will take a 3-D image of the tooth and then the CEREC machine will generate your crown. With CEREC, temporary crowns and multiple appointments are a thing of the past.
