Dr. Mike Tabor

Dr. Mike Tabor has served the dental needs of Middle Tennessee for over 30 years. A graduate of Carson-Newman College and The University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, his commitment to dentistry includes several professional distinctions, including president of the Tennessee State Board of Dentistry and chief forensic dentist for the State of Tennessee Office of Medical Examiner. He is a fellow and past president of the American Board of Forensic Odontology. With postgraduate training and certification in IV sedation from University of Alabama, Birmingham and a CEREC certification, Dr. Mike Tabor has an extensive focus on continuing education.

Postdoctoral honors include a fellowship in the American & International College of Dentists, as well as mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor bestowed on less than 1% of dentists nationwide. Dr. Mike Tabor is an active member in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Recently, Dr. Mike Tabor was elected the 2004 Dentist of the Year, an award by the Tennessee Chapter of the Academy of General Dentistry.

His community involvement includes board membership for The Jason Foundation, a teen suicide prevention program, as well as volunteering for Christmas for Kids and the Mercy House for abused women. He has served as a high-school football official in Middle Tennessee for 20 years.

Dr. Mike is a member of the Christian Medical/Dental Association and has participated in medical and dental mission trips to El Salvador and Brazil. Dr. Mike and his wife, Karen, regularly attend The Gathering Church of Nashville. In 2001, Dr. Tabor worked at Ground Zero during the 9-11 recovery mission. He assisted in the New York Medical Examiner's identification of victims of the World Trade Center while Karen was a Salvation Army volunteer.


Dr. Jayson Tabor

Dr. Jayson Tabor, the son of Dr. Mike Tabor, graduated with a BA from Samford University and then obtained his DDS from University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. He has obtained postgraduate implant education at the world-renowned Misch International Implant Institute and comprehensive dental aesthetics education at the Hornbrook Group - the Center for Advanced Dental Education.

With a thirst for knowledge, Dr. Jayson actively pursues continuing education all over the United States. He has acquired over 500 hours of continuing educations hours, all in order to provide his patients with the highest level of general, cosmetic, and implant dental care. He is a certified provider of CEREC restorations as well as Invisalign. He also has obtained certification from the American Academy of Laser Dentistry. Professional memberships include the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, where he is a fellow, the American Academy of Implant Dentists, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Tennessee Dental Association.

Dr. Jayson is also involved in community leadership and civic organizations. He recently served as the international service director and was a member of the board of directors for Hendersonville Rotary Club. Currently, he serves on the board of directors for the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce, and he coaches lacrosse for the local high school.

Dr. Jayson is married to Mary Beth, whom he met in dental school. They made their home in Hendersonville, TN. Jayson and Mary Beth have had the opportunity to participate in medical and dental mission trips to Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Brazil and to Afghani and Kurdish refugee camps on the eastern coast of Italy. They wholeheartedly support these endeavors and will continue their involvement in international missions as long as they are able. They now have two daughters.
